hey
im new to jeeps
but im mechanically inclined
so i tried to get my a/c workin
old comp wouldnt run unless i manually closed the relay
as i was putting in new juice the old comp kicked the bucket
so i got 1 for 30 bucks at the bone yard
but i still cant get it to run
we put oil on for the pump and juice to the proper level
by manually closeing the relay
the dash swtich seems to be working
the idle picks up a bit when i turn from off to on
and power goes on and off under the relay w a test light
seems the grounds under the relay arent right
any one have any ideas

Check the low side pressure switch for a loose connection or faulty switch, jump out the switch with a paper clip and see if the comressor engages

well from my understanding and my mechanic friends the low and high swithces r before the relay in the system, jumped both anyway w same
thing, i also tore the dash apart looking for anything melted... i found nothing
im stumped as is my friend
and today i found a new problem
i had the relay jumped and gave some throttle which i got back a big squeal
so maybe i need a new belt also, but that still doesnt fix the comp not kickin in,
im begining to think its a lost cause on my budget anyway

try making a jumper wire and unhooking from the switch and just bypassing it. Make sure after you bypass the low press. switch you have the motor running.
