Default do i need a sye?

hey guys im just wondering if i were do do a triangulated 4 link in the rear of my 88 cherokee lifted 4 inches with 35s and the np242 do i need the sye...or will the angle of my drive shaft still be ok the way it is with the new 4 link any help really appreciated Thanks

if your going to do all that work to the rear youl get more flex and trave i would do ti so there is no chance of the drive shaft fallng out with the factory slide yoke

thats what i was thinking but do you think it would be ok like just for driving to school and back until i could afford a sye

yea just dont get it on to much of an angle i ran 7 inch lift for 5 years without one but mine was leaf spring i think th four link will flex a lot more

transfercase drop is cheep. longer bolts and spacers is all you need. then you dont need sye.

no doubt it will flex a whole more i just dont have the money for both right now my axle is already pointed up a little bit to get the best angle so hopefully it will remain the same after the links go up thanks for the help.

when yu do the sye there are two ways of doing it the shaft then the tom wood ds or the hack and tap it comes with a ds it a a pain to drill the shaft and tap it, the shaft you have to take the case apart and do some cutting

ya i have the 242 so from my understanding i can only do a hack and tap from tom woods but he does it so its professionally done

on iron rock i see the sye for the 231 but not the 242 or am i missing it

i googled it and one came up the hack and tap will save money if you think you can do the shaft cut and tap
