Do I have ignition switch problems??
1995 Cherokee, 253k miles. This is a little strange but here it goes. Last winter I had trouble getting the starter to engage so I replaced the starter - no change. Then I replaced the starter relay - no change. Then it got warm and the problem went away. Now the cold weather is back & here we go again. What happens is that when turning the key sometimes the starter engages sometimes it doesn't - no click - nothing. If I force the key a little it starts. If I turn the key slow sometimes it starts just short of the full turn of the ignition switch. Other times I just keep turning the key until the starter engages. I'm thinking I need to replace the ignition switch. I've been replacing parts all along - including the altenator that just crapped out, had the battery checked & it's good so this eliminates the starter, starter relay, battery & altenator. I've tried starting in neutral - same thing happens - does this eliminate the neutral switch ???
