Default Distributor and rotor questions

So I have a 96 Cherokee sport 4.0L and i'm doing a major tune up on it soon. What distributor cap and rotor would you guys recommend? I went to my nearby auto shop and they said that I need to know what specific cap and rotor I have in order to replace it. Not looking to spend too much, nor am i looking for top performance. Any suggestions?

Mopar all the way!

Look up a Avondale automotive on either eBay or amazon, they sell tune up kits for something like 45 bucks. Well worth it for mopar parts. Also champion copper plugs. No fancy stuff just plain Jane champion coppers.

Thanks guntat! After browsing some threads, I did pick up copper plugs. Do you recommend any kit?

Avondale automotive is a jeep dealership that sells on amazon and eBay. But their 4.0 tune up kit. It comes with both rotors (different rotor depending on year as well as cap and wires). Slap it on and your good.

You want ones with brass, not aluminum, terminals. Napa's Premium line is fine.
