disconnect 4 wheel drive

disconnect 4 wheel drive
I just bought a used 08 GC. Is it possible to disconnect the front drive shaft to make the truck 2 wheel drive for better gas mileage? Odd question yes, but for me 4 wheel drive all the time is useless.
