No synthetics, but other than that what weight do I want to use on this thing, thanks ...

The manual calls for synthetic 70w-90. 75w-140 when towing.

You live in indiana.. Why no synthetic? Stays fluid in nasty cold weather, big mileage benefit too. Anyway, I used 75W90 in mine, both front and rear.

Thanks, I guess synthetics turned me off when they found a leak in my axle seals on my Wrangler. I just don't like synthetics on older vehicles, they find leaks that otherwise wouldn't appear with dino oil, I use dino oil, not saying synthetic isn't good stuff, it just treated me bad (I know the leak was there to begin with, but I hold a grudge agin' it)

The synthetic didn't cause the leak. It removed the crap that was plugging the leak.

FWIW, I use Mobil 1 75w-90 synthetic in my '98 with no leaks.

don't forget friction modifier if you have lsd

i buy whatever is on sale 75/90

Truth is I just bought it, not sure if it's lsd or a dana 30 or chrysler diff, gotta figure that all out, thanks everyone ...

Generally synthetic gear oil is slick enough that you don't need the LSD additive.

Front axle will be a D30.

Rear is usually a 8.25 unless you have a ABS then its a D35. Either can be LSD.

Why not pull the diff cover off? Then you don't have to worry about leaks if sealed properly with ATV. I just did mine and used 80-90 gear oil.

Actually, it's my rear pinion seal that's leaking, getting it fixed, just want to top it off in case it's low till then.
