I have a 93 with a dana 35 and I'm wondering if a dif out of a 91 will fit in there. The reason I'm changing is that the one side of the carrier the bearing slid down with no pressing necessary. Thanks in advance

If it's an XJ axle it fits, make sure it's the same gear ratio if your Jeep has a transfercase.

I will be swapping the ring gear from mine to the one out of the 93 so the gears mesh properly.

A gear swap is never as simple as moving the gears - you'll have to set mesh and pattern. Short form: If you've not done it successfully before, get help!

If you're using new gears, there are a stack of things you have to do before you run them. If you're moving old gears - you'll have to take a batch of measurements before you pull them apart so you can set them up properly on the other carrier!

It would be easier to find another axle with the same ratio, and drop the whole assembly in...

Well I've already set the gears properly but the carrier is shot. the bearing went on with no press needed when the other had to be pressed on. I was just making sure that the carriers were the same
