Ups, nope Wiki didn't lie. I just suck at reading;
2.1L TurboDiesel
Douvin J8S 2068 cc (126 CID) I4, SOHC Diesel 85 hp (63 kW) @ 3750 rpm 132 lb·ft (179 N·m) @ 2750 rpm Renault J8S 1985−1994

Are those the specs without the added performance from the turbo? I sure hope so....

I feel better now. My confidence in Wiki is restored and I 'm not devastated to find out you made a mistake.

Im sure that is with the Turbo, since all Diesels have them. Remember it's a little 2.1 4banger.

With a little internal work I'm sure you can get that little puppy up to 120+hp and upgrade the turbo.

remember thats a stock motor diesels can make big power and mad torque with a little modification. i plan on running the 2.0 tdi what starts at around 120 hp i believe after i get done with it, it should be around 300 hp and 350 torque while still getting 47 mpg

i have a lq4 in my silverado prerunner making 800 rwhp its twin turbo and i have an itch to build something completely different that no one has at least not that i know of. i have done a lot of research on weight of different diesels and even though i love the 4bt it would be silly for my application because of the weight i want to keep it as light as possible. i plan on making around 300 hp and 350 torque out of that 2.0 tdi so thats more than enough and its super light lol

I had 4 of those (TDIs), the 2011's had 140hp and a load of torque. Good luck finding an affordable one though, you'll be best off buying a whole wreck. Scrappers in PA want like $10k for just the motor. Might use the VIN from the VW for the build... they might not notice. (right...) I just moved to CA, and haven't yet built up the nerve or checkbook balance to try to smog any of my stuff.
