Dies when pushing in clutch??
I just recently purchased a 94 Jeep Cherokee Sport (hope this is the right forum/thread).
When I am driving around and coming up to stop lights or what have you, when I engage the clutch the RPMs drop to 0 and it dies. It doesn’t do it all the time but at least 90% of the time
The way I have been avoiding it from dyeing is I tap on the gas once I engage the clutch, and then it will drop the RPMs down to like 6-800 and ideal just fine. It will ideal fine when stopped or when just started up, but for the life of me I have no idea where to even being to start looking for the issue as this is my first Jeep.
Any thoughts?

I check to see if maybe it was a battery issue this morning on my way to work with my lights and radio on, they didnt dimmer at all when it died
so my next question is where do i begin to look for vacuum leaks at?
I have the 6 cy 4.0 ltr MSI

In efforts to fix this on going issue I have replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump. Filter was clogged causing sputtering @ RPMS above 2K. Pump went shortly after the filter was changed.
Now it runs great at any RPM but I still find I have the issue with it wanting to die randomly after engaging the clutch.
It recently passed smog, so all the hoses and vacuum lines are good.
So whats next on the list of suspects? Anyone???
