i knew the 0331... just wasnt positive if they ran them in the XJ's... no 00 or 01 for me... im thinking about selling my 03 dodge 2500 and buying something cheaper and smalled... figured since i knew so much about xj's now i should lean towards getting another one... but then i started thinking "what if i find a clean comanche for a everyday driver" so we will see what i end up doing... not getting 0331 head cherokee thats for sure... already sticking a motor in a 00 WJ cause of this...

the jeep overheats because the head cracks and causes it to... not you over heat the jeep and the head cracks... well i mean that doesnt help but in most cases its the head cracking... causing the head gasket to go... and then the lower end craps... at least this is most peoples cases that ive read anyways... if you catch it in time u can replace the head with the revised version but i have yet to have seen a vehicle with a bad head gasket make it much longer after the gasket was replaced... generally the damage is done already and replacing the head gasket is a waste of money... UNLESS it is your jeep and your mechanically enclined enough to catch it right off the bat... which is still rare... normally nobody knows until it starts overheating...
