i just washed all the mud off from underneath my car and all i did was use a hose and some cleaner to help cut through the mountains of mud. and i started it and as soon as it turns over it sounds as if the front drive shaft is working hard to turn like it needs more grease. i took it for a drive to see it was a problem that i could work out by driving a little but no. when i accelerate it has a little more griding and a little more vibration. and when i shut it off it seems to grip on the last few cycles not a smooth slow down. i want to think it is the front drive shaft because i can feel it strongest under my left foot which is almost directly over the front driveshaft. and finally my u-joints ARE going out and i AM getting them replaced. any insight would be awesome thanks.

i'd start with your front axle shaft u-joints. that alone may be your problem.
but at least check your front and rear drive shaft u-joints.
the mud likes to eat these up on a daily basis.
