In desperate need of help please!!!!
Easy son.. You might not agree with his tactics but I dont think that gives you the right to publicly bash him.. should you state it may not have been smart or responsible sure but dont go off. **Hope you understand where I am coming from before you blow up at me..**
Best of luck with fixing the jeep..

I thought to myself its just from working it so hard. But i decided to pull into a gas station to check everything over and i looked at the ground before i opened the hood and there was a hugeeee antifreeze puddle in the snow and i looked under my jeeps engine bay and there was antifreeze just pouring at this point. I looked more and quicker and one of my hoses had blown a hole in it. I figured **** i better hurry up and get home and at this point i was only about 5 blocks away from my house so i hurried up and yes i know this is illegal in so many ways but i blew thru red lights and stop signs trying to get her home before she overheated and as i was about 3 blocks away my temperature gauge shot all the way to red and not even a second later i turned my jeep immediately off. I sat for about 10 minutes so it would cool down a bit because i turned it off in the middle of a road and this road was covered in snow and was over knee height and i didnt want to leave it there knowing almost nobody could have pulled me home then. I popped the hood open and yes i know this was also another stupid idea but i propped the hood open and left it open and drove home as quickly as i could while watching my temperature gauge. I got her home now and shes pouring antifreeze still but what im worried about is could i have done any damage during this whole time? I didnt let it get into the red zone again and i did check my oil after i got it home. Oil is clean still and is not milky and smells like oil and not like oil mixed with antifreeze. All i would like to know is if i could have warped or blown a head gasket thru this time? Im walking to the parts store tomorrow to pick up a hose and 2 gallons of antifreeze.
Sorry for the long post but im just worried sick that i could have damaged my Jeep. This jeep has been thru so much with me and i treat it like its my kid.

Alright i didnt mean to start a war here guys i was just looking for some help. Yes i blew 1 redlight and a few stop signs but if you didnt read my post that well then read it again please. The snow was up to my doors due to there being a super bad storm in my town that night. NOBODY was out on the roads. I could get around just fine and i was trying to get home from a friends house as I was the only transportation for my family. I dont have kids or anything but i just wanted to be home just in case my mom needed anything for my siblings or herself. I knew the risk i was pulling and i know its illegal and stupid but god so be it if the roads werent as bad as they were then i would have pulled to the side of the road and walked home. But with the most of the roads being clogged up from snow drifts and really deep snow and from cruising around my town most of the night i knew nobody was out and about and especially not walking. Im not going to argue anymore i just want to be at peace with everybody. Sorry for my stupidity.
But for those giving me and wishing me good luck i thank you guys very much! Turns out i leaked about 2.5 gallons of antifreeze since the mishap. Replaced the hose and filled her back up with antifreeze and shes running again and is not missing a beat. Checked my oil and the common symptoms of a blown head gasket and my Jeep had none. I got away clean this time thank god. Thanks for the people that wished me luck.

OH and as far as there being snow plows on the road there was none. I spent the whole night helping as many people out as i could. I pulled 10 people home that night. Half of them were couples with kids in the back seat. I was out driving around not to have fun but i knew i could get around just fine and would be able to pull people home without a problem. I was thanked by everybody i pulled or helped out. I got offered money from every single person and couple but i turned the offers down and politely said i was doing what was the right thing. My priority that night was to get as many people safely and as quickly as possible with kids to a safe and warm place. I dont know what you guys think about me now but all i know is i feel really darn good about myself and i still do after that night.
I live in Iowa and we got hit with atleast 1.5 feet of snow with snowdrifts higher than my Jeep that is lifted 4.5 inches sitting on 33 inch tires. One of the worst storms we have had besides the year we had an ice storm that put most of the people from my town without power for about 1-3 days for some.

There in no doubt are gonna be people like that and dont get me wrong they do step on my nerves but i have been known as a person that tries to get along with everybody. I like to keep peace and just get along. And thank you, I'm glad i survived my dash home as well and glad my Jeep did as well without any major problems.

Most the time the person getting flamed or gets sarcastic answers on here deserves it. Yes there are a few guys that make a habit of being wisecracking sarcastic types but overrall they all help out as much as they can through the internet. If xjtalk is So so great why are you over here advertising for them??

By the way have you checked out (DELETED) lots of great folks over there.
Cf is one of the few Jeep forums I've found that has a mobile app. Since I have limited internet access this works great for me.
Oh and the mods usually step in if they feel like the flaming insults etc get outta hand.

Wow... this went from a guy needing some innocent help with his Jeep, to a few good guys helping him out, to a friggin war zone; and the sad part is that it wasn't even the OP's fault. You had Mr. Im-Special-and-A-Perfect-Driver fly in out of nowhere and bash the OP for running a stoplight and couple of stop signs...in 1.5 feet of snow... when probably no other soul was on the road and technically he was in an emergency situation. Then the guy advertising a site flys into the scene and uses his *'s like there out of style. THEN the other guy who decides to make remarks on the guys advertising comes on. And finally ends with out advertiser basically calling out the mods like an idiot.
That's just awesome. Btw, Im glad your Jeep is runnin tops again. As long as you have a pre 2000 4.0, you don't really have the weak head to worry about. Those blocks and heads are like rocks, and the head gasket isn't exactly a weakling either. But Im glad for ya. And I have respect for you helpin people out of the snow.

I'm new here so I am not gonna jump in the fight.
Will say that you should not have risked a vehicle that you seem to be so dependent upon.
I hope you get it all patched up and nothing serious was done.
Good luck!

Im glad it's running good again. I have alot of snow too. My jeep has been overheating bad as well. I thought my thermostat was stuck. But it's still overheating. So it's out of commission til I can get a chance to work on it. I also didn't realize my tire was flat so i tried to get unstuck this morning and ripped the tire off the wheel. Needless to say crappy. morning. Sucks.
