Denso Alternator rebuild ...

Engine: 4.0L HO
'91 XJ, 4.0L HO motor.
I pulled my Denso Alternator to replace the brushes, and I noticed the slip ring (comutator) is getting pretty worn. It will have to be replaced in the next few years. Has anybody ever done that on the denso? It seemed to have a solid metal end on the shaft ... I couldn't see any way to press off the slip ring.
I've found slip ring videos on youtube, but none of them are for the denso.

Engine: 4.0, new lifters valve job with new springs and exhaust valves, preload set with shims
Yeah I took one apart once. Doing the brushes is part of it but if the slip ring is toast ..
This alt had seized up from being parked. Cleaned it up and all good. Slip ring was worn but not completely gone, still was pretty bad. Alt worked and tested fine tho when I got it together with the old one. Pretty easy swap. I too looked it up. There are videos. Not bad at all but you def want to have the part before you start.

Thanks for that link. I've watched that one, and it doesn't cover the removal and replacement of the slip ring.
Has anyone done that before? The rotor shaft seems to be solid metal on top, going all the way down to the edge of the SR copper. I can't really see a way for the slip ring to come off over the end of the shaft.
If anyone has any experience with replacing the slip ring, I'd be much obliged.
