Delayed heater

So heres the deal. I have a 94 cherokee two door. And when u turn the heater on the fan comes on but the heat doesnt. Then anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes later while driving down the road the heat will just decide to kick on. Any ideas?

Find, remove, then throw away the heater control valve.

Remove and replace or just remove? never gone after one before whereabout is it located

Under the hood, passenger side, in the heater hoses. Google "cherokee heater control valve" under "images". It can be eliminated by using longer heater hoses and plugging/capping the vacuum line. The factory eliminated it on '97 up XJs.
