deep water?
couple questions for the guys who wheel thru deep water often..
i fully submerge the computer very often.. is that something to worry about? is there anything i can do to relocate or better protect it? or is it fine the way it is. not having any problems, but i'd like to prevent em if possible.
my alternators only last about a month or two at a time.. anything i can do to make it more water resistant or is there a good heavy duty brand i can get so i dont have to worry about submerging it?
has anybody had a problem with bending their fans in the water?
if so i might look into getting the taurus fan.
the woods around here are completely flooded, a lotta places it gets to the point where you cant see at night because both headlights are completely underwater lol... time for some roof lights

just wanted to throw in a little tip for those who'd like to improve their fording capabilities for a few bucks.
i've hydrolocked my 4.0L a total of 3 times. with the stock intake sitting just below the left headlamp, it really limits how deep you can go till it sucks in water. so here's my junkyard mod:
all's i did was take the top half of a stock 4.0L airbox & intake duct, flip it upsidedown and mount it above the valvecover. then i plugged off all the extra holes, and siliconed the filter to the airbox. the hood protects the filter from getting splashed, no matter how hard i splash the jeep it stays dry. i left the other airbox there (not hooked up tho) in case i wanted to switch back, but it runs fine the way it is so i left it like this.
it raised the intake height by over a foot! i havent hydrolocked or even sucked in any water since ive done this mod about a month ago. i wanted to put it thru some really good tests before suggesting it to anyone. i go deepwater wheeling 3-4 times a week.
& ya the filter is a little dirty lol
