My steering stabilizer was shot and I was getting the wobble pretty bad.
grab the tire at the top and bottom and see if there is any play in it

What kind of shape are the front wheel bearings in? When do you get the wobble?
High speed, low speed, both?
Going straight, in corners, both?
With brakes applied, without, both?

If a steering set up requires a steering stabalizer for it not to wobble that is poor engineering. Not all vehicles have steering stabalizers. By replacing the steering stabalizer you are putting a band aid on the problem.
then why is it there? with you theory the same could be said of shocks?

last year, i had the death wobble pretty bad, i replaced the track bar bushings, wheel bearings, uca axle bushings, new long arms with johnny joints, new ball joints, new steering upgrade with brand new tre's and 6" drop pitman arm, and even a new skyjacker steering stabilizer. but i still had death wobble.
so i replaced the skyjacker stabilizer with a spring over one by trailmaster and that was what fixed that. so far so good. that was a year ago with some hardcore wheeling done.
even tho my stabilizer was new, it just wasn't strong enough with my lift and tires.
there was nothing else that i could change.
only thing i didn't change was my steering box, but it has no play and doesn't leak.
