Default death wobble?

I'm a new jeep owner and new to this site. I have a 97 xj and it seems to have this death wobble I keep hearing about. It's only when I hit a series of bumps on pavement at like 50-60 mph. The whole front end will shake, including the steering wheel, until I tap the brakes then it goes away. I consulted a teacher I used to have at a tech school, he worked for Chrysler for yrs, he said it Definitly the death wobble. I looked under the front end and saw a joint directly under the steering box, it moves up n down whenever getting in n out of the truck and I'm assuming that's the problem. It connects a long metal rod to the passenger side on the frame or rear looks like. My question is do I need to replace the whole rod, just the joint or what? And is it just that, like if I replace it will the wobble go away or does something else need to be replaced too? Sorry so long just wanted to make sure I explained everything she does.

https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/bad-shake-123268/ Last post has a good list of what to check/replace. If you take it somewhere (shop), and they say you just need a new steering stabilizer, move on and find a new shop, as this can cause it, but usually not by itself, and replacing it will be a very temporary fix.

You'll have a much better understanding. Death wobble could be caused by 15 different things so it's impossible to say that one thing will fix your problem
