Well it started 2 days ago with me haveing a jeep day I had a leaking brake line on my passenger front well being a jeep day I fixed the leak (from line to brake) well then I had no brake pressure tried bleeding it and took it for a drive, turns out I had no fluid in the master cl, filled it back up tried to bleed the same line (gravity and pettle), no help then gravity bleed the whole system... Still nothing. Ideas?

 

I know its Easter but I half to work in about 20 hours... Need ideas guys

 

The last time I bled my front's by myself, I used about 6 feet of that clear vinyl tubing. Worked the pedal with my thumb on the end and a coffee can. Worked really well! I suppose it would work for the rears with a longer tube. Maybe a little waistfull, but without one of those little check valve deals, it really does it.

I don't think the gravity approach is gonna work out so well. Got me thinking though. In a real jamb I wonder if you could park with your nose sky high and get it to work on the rears!

 

The only time gravity bleeding worked for me is when I let it bleed over night. When you bled the brakes did you do all 4 wheels and do it in the correct order? Start with the rear passenger then rear drivers side, front passenger and finish with front drivers side. Hope it works

Sure sounds like air. I might watch the resovoure and tickle it a little and see if you can make any bubbles. Prime, bleed.

 

Yes sir! I know when I had one of the metal brake lines brake on me. It suck all kinds of air in and I had t9o bled the3 or 4 time before they started working right.

Was thinking. If it could pop a proportioning valve, and ALSO the rears were shot, that would complicate things.

WELL, NIX ON THAT^ The rear would need to work for it to have something to be out of proportion with.

 

Not home yet so can't yet but also had front and rear breaks replaced last Sep would the bleeder be sezed if they used them they said they replaced front and rear but Idk... They could have lied... O well ill update when home

 

im guessin that since u ran the Master cylinder out of fluid, u now have air in the MC. might have to bench bleed it

 

I'll try pedal bleeding it first but I will if I must

I didn't think about that for some reason.

 

Did you get help, or a tube to take a proper shot at bleeding it? Maybe it does need to be re-primed, but I'd make sure I gave that a fair shot.
