I purchased my Cherokee this morning at 9. Now, 12 hours later, I'm finally coming in for the night. I spent all day getting aquainted with it. I fixed a bunch of odds and ends and bought new headlamps for it since the old ones looked original.
So far, so good. However, these are my concerns at the moment... The driver's side power window doesn't work. Nothing happens if you flip the switch. I pulled the door skin off and looked at the regulator and it doesn't look broken. The motor just ceases to do anything. Can you replace just the motor? Is this a common problem with the switch itself?
In terms of the mechanical nature of the vehicle, it idles quietly. Everything is in check. The 4wd works well. The coolant is green, tranny fluid is red, etc... The previous owner knew nothing about working on vehicles, so he took it to a mechanic to have it worked on. I like that because he didn't try to hide oil leaks, etc. I got the truck with the underhood area dusty and dirty.
The only weird thing I can see is the way it sits. In the rear, the driver's side distance from tire to fender is 5 fingers sideways. On the passenger side, the same gap is 3 fingers. Conversely, the driver's side front gap is about and inch lower than the passenger side. Is there anything I should check out? I want to get it back to stage zero, where it just drives as close to it would have when new.

well to fix the shiny problem, you dont have to lift it
...or have 4wd....

(if you cant tell the rear wheel is off the ground, it doesnt have a rear sway bar.)
My stock height 2wd...i wish i had pics of it when i got it stuck in some good ole Georgia Clay...

Yeah, but you get back to the higher quality mud with a lift and 4wd.
