i was driving my 99 cherokee sport 4.0 today and all of a sudden my speedo and tach go all the way to zero,my airbag light comes on and then my check engine light followed by "no bus" on my trip meter.. this happened periodically the whole trip. it would fix it self in a about a minute or if i hit the button to change functions on my trip meter it would go away also... any ideas. oh and all the other gauges stay fine

WOW! My '99 Cherokee does the same thing every once in a blue moon... Ive been trying to figure out this debacle as well... Which I dont understand because it runs great...

I have yet to find a definite answer to this issue, because all these "shade tree mechanics" say something different... Adn Im really trying to avoid taking it to the dealer...

 

have you pulled the cluster and cleaned the connector yet

 

I have not thought to do that, nor do I know how... Any instructions?
