Default Dash lights.

My dash lights went out on my 00 xj, just the gauge lights. All the other lights work, the check engine, high beams, blinkers, and so on. I'm looking at the fuses but I don't know what fuses are what. Does anyone have a list of what fuses do what, all I can see are numbers and nothing else. I tried to search and didn't find anything for a 2000 XJ.

Thanks, Kevin.

I just did this on Monday... Okay first I had to replace my headlight switch because it was shorting out and blowing my fuses. And the fuses to check are 6 7 17 23 for the inside and then there is one in the engine bay that's 20a that is the same size as the ones inside! So I'd start there!

when you say in the engine bay 20A is that the fuse number or do you mean 20amp? obviously at at a key board and not under my hood and it would be self explanitory, but just want a little clarification on this please.

Thanks

Yours may be under the dash. Not positive.

Are you sure your running & tag lights still work?

All my lights work except the dash lights. I found a bad fuse a 5 amp in # 6 I think. I'm replacing the head light switch in the morning, I hope that works.

Thanks, Kevin.
