i was trying to figure out where water was leaking into my jeep. my floors were filling with water. i watched the water run down through my firewall where there were bolts sticking through for the dash or something. every single one of the nuts on those bolts was loose, so i went through and tightened them down. my dash doesnt make noise like its falling apart anymore and my floors are not full of water. hope this helps someone.

 

Min doesnt fill up with water but my dash does crackle and pop all the time. Were these bolts located in the enginge bay side or underneathe the dash in the cab. Im gonna check them out.

 

on the engine bay side. the nuts on mine were so loose i could undo all of them with my fingers

 

Its normal that bolts loose as we drive... Just need to check so we can tighten them up...

 

I'd just love to figure out the buzzing rattle from the right side of my dash. It drives me nuts at 45mph. I can't find it for nothing.

 

my dash makes noises all the time, but when I give it a good bang with my fist it always goes away.

 

maybe thats where the water is coming from in mine

 

haha. i figured i couldnt be the only one. i used to hit mine with my fist. it never worked though

 

I've been getting a new rattle from the dash lately but only when brakes applied and at a stop idling. Gonna check these tomorrow. Thanks for the info. Wish I had a warm garage to do this work in. Stupid HOA's FTL.
