Dana 35 fill plug leaking: how to stop?
My rear differential looked like it was leaking over time from sitting, and when I started driving it it looked like it got worse. To me it looked like an inner seal was leaking, but I decided to start with just putting new oil and a gasket on,and cleaning the whole housing up so I can see where it leaks from. Now I'm not sure whether this is the same leak,or if it's from me trying to reuse the fill plug, but when I test drove it last night there was a decent amount leaking from the plug. I didn't damage the plug when taking it out,but I'll be putting a new one in today,so are there any extra precautions I can take to make sure this one doesn't leak?

Check that the venting system is open. Nipple on top the housing, hose, and valve. If it's clogged it will build pressure forcing lube out somewhere.
