Yes, you can use the ABS shafts in a non ABS axle.

The first set I had I chiseled the tone rings off of the shafts to use them.

There is really nothing to hook up on the shafts.. The sensor attaches to the backing plate and there is a plug that plugs into the wiring.

If I get a chance, I will take a picture of the set-up.. I happen to have a D-35 with ABS that I am tearing apart...

Ok before I call BS on this, please look at my post carefully. I said that I had never seen one personally. Now the question is: Do you know this from personal experience or did you read it on the internet somewhere? What years? Got a link or a picture?

What year even though I seriously doubt you really saw one. Maybe you should search for what a 8.25" diff looks like.

Were doing our best to be polite, since we know you have a axe to grind about CF. I'm not even involved in this yet, but coming on here just to push buttons, trying to start trouble is just petty. Be advised I don't like petty people, and I don't believe that it is wrong to try to keep one forum on this net a nice friendly place to come and hang out. So why don't you do us all a favor and go pettle your ego somewhere else. I also believe that as ADULTS we can take person responsability on how we act and what we say on a public forum.

Okay I promised some pics....

First... a non-ABS Driver side shaft on the left..and ABS one on the right..

Second... Pics of the ABS sensor, the tone rings and how it attaches..

Here are pics of the brackets that hold the ABS sensors in place, without the brake parts in place....

The shaft picture didnt come out very well...
But they are EXACTLY the same length and diameter. They interchange...

And Yes I know I need to clean off my workbench.. If you saw the rest of the garage, you'd think that was pretty clean....

Wow, that is about the nicest and friendliest thing anyone on CF has ever said to me. Thanks for making me feel right at home.
