Was looking at my parts XJ and comparing it to my Daily Driver. My DD doesn't have a vent tube on the front diff. There's a hole where one should be though. Is the fitting for the vent in the diff a press fit or is it threaded? Looks like ill have to rob the one off my parts vehicle and put it on my DD.

 

Are you going to be driving your DD through water? Shouldn't be a concern until you decide to run it through water higher than the hole.

 

It's just a push in plastic sleeve.
