What do you think about welding spider gears and put a Manuel cable on that fork and then you got a fully locked Dana 30 :-)

Welding a diff, any diff can be bad news. Some people know how to do it right and others try and fail miserably. I have debated locking my D30 and using the "Manuel" cable to disengage the passenger axle much like having a locked axle with locking hubs and leaving one unlocked on the street. Just don't know about locking the D30 though.

Yes it's not the best to do it to I know only being 27 spline no chromoly shafts and being a three peace axle. That being said I have a Dana 30 a cable and a welder so I would be out nothing at this point until it brakes :-)

Not for me, but NEAT IDEA! Seems like it should work. "Select lock". Besides one broken fork, (a cable would not help that), the vac, disco seems to work OK on mine. I have seen other threads that recommended only an A1 welder for that. Guess they WILL fail if it's not done right. Huh. Neat.

It's worth a shot if it brakes full size 60s going in :-)
