i just talked to another friend of mine and he has 2 axle shafts i think one is from a 95 and the other was actually out of my 85 they need ujoints but i can get them for free. if i did this- what are my choices for ujoints and will it even work. 95 had abs i believe, are they strong enough? should i just shut up now and go get post 99 axleshafts and get new ujoints for them?
^^ I was gonna say!! I run a high pinion, non-c.a.d., locked D30 front axle, on stock late model shafts, with 33s, and have had no issues. I wheel some pretty decent trails too, so I have to wonder how hard you're hitting the skinny pedal?? LOL!! Everyone has their own style and such, but it may be worth looking into. IIWM, I would worry more about the rear, as others have said. The 8.8 that has been mentioned is a monster of an axle. I have heard near the strength of a D60, aside from the housing, so c clips aren't much of a worry, IMHO. The 8.25 is a worthy contender as well. Look for the 29 spline model, they are the better of the 2 available.

You might just be in luck. The 95 w/ abs should have the bigger u-joint just like the 97 and up. My brother had a 95 w/ abs that had the bigger u-joint axles.

I didnt read the whole thread but wow, you want to run 6.5-7" lift on 33's? I had ~7" lift on 35's with minimal trimming before i rolled it. I killed one d30 from gears becoming unmeshed then i got chomoly shafts, new gears, lunch box and a truss, so the gears wouldnt come unmeshed again. Never had a problem again with those axles again

the scout has a amc 20 in the rear and idk what in the front but its pass side drop so its not going to work for me... id hate to take it appart anyways. im going to go to the junk yard for sone 97+ axles and then some spicer 760s from somewhere. as far as the rear goes idk what to do i like the ford 8.8 but not the cclips. i can prolly get a c8.25 from th jy but ik my limits are arount the 35s without any major work to it. if im going to spend the money+ time i just want it done (its 12 degrees i dont wanna be outside any longer then i need to lol). ill look aorund and read up on what has worked for others and what hasnt. thanks for all the insight guys i appreciate the help alot
