Default Dana 30 ring & pinion
I have a 87 Cherokee Laredo with a dana 30 front and I am wanting to order gears for it. How do I know if it is a reverse or not?

the only reason you would have reverse gears is if its a Hi pinion, I don't believe HP 30's come on cherokees

yes reverse unless someone swapped in a LP30

wrong 84-99 cherokees had hp30s. you drive a cherokee and you dont know this??

Thank you and how can I be sure someone didnt swap in a LP 30? I am only asking cause I am not that experienced and I want to be sure I am getting to correct gear sets.

people usually swap out lp30 for hp30s. LPs have the pinion coming out low on the housing and the HPs come out high.
