I have plenty of write-ups on changing out the inner seals on a dana 30, but none of them go in to DETAIL when putting the carrier back in.
Should I mark the carrier before I pull it out and try putting it back exactly the way I took it out. Or does it matter as long as I dont mess with the ring gear. And I know to put the carrier caps and bolts exactly how they came off.
I just bought this hp dana 30 and figured I should swap out the inner seals and clean out all the gunk in the axle tubes before I swap it into my XJ.

It doesnt matter with the carrier if you dont mess with the gears, you cant put it in backwards. Just keep the carrier caps and bolts in the same position and torque it.
