Your housing ends will be open to the elements without the axle shafts being enclosed by the seals. The planetary gear set in the pot won't be supported. you could pull it when pulling the shafts. I'd recommend removing the front driveshaft also and temporarily plugging or capping off the housing tubes. Give the universals of the driveshaft cardigan a full service lube.

The inner axles plug the the inner seals. Your diff fluid will probably leak out if you don't plug those with something, or remove both of the inner shafts (so no spinning at all)

if it is only a short drive, just pull the inners.
if it is for a while, pull the front drive shaft, both inners and i would even pull the carrier too, clean out all the diff fluid so it doesn't leak out the tubes and stuff some rags in the ends of the axle tubes to keep the dirt out. don't wheel it like this either.
why may i ask are you wanting to do this anyways?
