so i found the leak i thought was a rear main nope it was those o rings so i spent hours wrenching finally got it off with a socket and a hill billy curtain rod yes a damn curtain rod so i got it all back together and all behold the oil filter threads were cross threaded so i guess my question is can you re-thread the adapter because I'm going to actually bi-pass it but i need the part of the adapter that the oil filter spins onto,



any opinions

How bad are the threads boogered? You may be able to use a thread file to fix them,also is there a sticker that has the thread dims. IIRC its
13/16x16 but dont hold me to that if it is you can try to find a die set and rethread it. Might be better if you can get to a jy and pull another one off but definetly get some new oring from the dealer either way while youre in there.

Or just eliminate the oil filter adapter completely.

That's what I plan on doing but don't I need part of it to thread into the block
