Yeah man i seen it! Deff an idea... why was your shackle angle so far off in the first place? do you run aftermarket shackles or the stock ones? since these are a direct bolt in at the eye lets did the center pin line up right too?

So let me get this straight, you replaced the XJ main leaf with the ones from the dodge van, then put the rest of your XJ leafs back in?

i add one more from the van pack as well. so i used the main and the second one down. and it gave me a way smother ride and better shackle angle as well

It appears you have some aftermarket shackles. Do you know how much lift the setup netted?

I'm super interested in this Van leaf spring mod. Did you have stock shackles on your Jeep when you started? Also, would it be possible to just use the main leaf from the van and the rest of the XJ pack? Does it mostly just bolt up? (with the exception of U-bolts, brake lines, shocks, etc)

i had the rc shackles on to begin with and it is pretty much bolt in but you need some longer shackles to keep a good angle and i would mix it up like the van main and the second down then some of the stock xj leafs and it should be a good riding setup. plus you would have like 6 more leafs to work with to get more or less lift.

i kept the same lift as i started with but i could get more by using more van leafs i think you could get about 5 inches or so with this setup

This may be a tough question to answer but i'll ask anyway; What combination of van/XJ leafs do you think would net about 3" of lift on stock shackles?

for that i would keep the xj main and add one or two or the van leafs. some of my lift was from the shackles. the van springs have basically twice the weight capacity so it will not take many to get what you want. only use the van main with a longer shackle

i think it is the Dakota ones that give a stiff ride. but it just depends on the spring weight and handling on them.

i would get a boomerang shackle if you want to do the van leafs. or at least a longer shackle with some different mounting holes like the rough country ones i have so you can either use one hole or the other depending on what you need. the van springs are a lot easier to find in my area then the Dakota or s10's are plus they are the correct lenght and width for use in the xj leafs
