Unfortunate that there would have been less (none because the door would have stopped?) if she had just let the door come down.

I got a used TCU from ebay, put it in and still no proper shifting. Disconnect it and it shifts manually from 1 to 3 to 4. Any ideas of what to try next? My TCU has a "94L" on it and the one I got has a "96D". I'm wondering if that's the year and month it was made? If so I don't think a '96 TCU will work in a '95. Right?

Ok, latest update. Got a matching number TCU and it worked
For some reason the engine was running really bad, stalling out and sputtering. Via good ol' Google and YouTube, tested my Throttle Position Sensor and yep, it wasn't putting the proper voltage on throttle range. Changed it and all is well. Got a temp gauge sender on the way and hopefully all my dash gauges will be back to normal.
Thanks to everyone who chimed in here with all the great help. My AquaJeep is running(for now anyway) as good as it did before it went for a swim.
