Default d44 rearend help

Ive asked this before but didnt get an answer. I have a d44 rear end from an 86 wagoneer i believe. I can fab up all the perches and stuff but i when i measured it, one side was 2 inchs longer than the other. Is that considered centered? is there anyway to shorten a rear axle? i know you can the front but i was unsure of the rears. please help

Doesn't it bolt right up?

Only difference from 86 - 87 is that they started offering the 4.0 engine. Should bolt right up.

Oh wait you mean a Full Size Waggy.

Oops. I dunno on that. I started thinking. They didn't have a D44 in 86 in the XJ LOL.

I drive a XJ Waggy so I automatically think small waggy when you say waggy. Sorry for the confusion.

A lot of axles have a bit of offset to the chunk. Just center it hub to hub and you'll be fine.
