im trying to figure ouit which one i have. what are some of the differences between the two? i read somewhere they look almost identical to each other. i was under the impression i had a d35 but i started doing my lift today and the ubolts that RE sent me were too short and narrow. so i was trying to figure out if they put the wrong part in the box or a 8.25 is a bigger axle housing than the d35

8.25 has larger diameter tubes.

8.25 is flat on the bottom.

it is VERY simple.

the d35's pan is FLUSH with the bottom of the housing
the 8.25 has to little nubs that stick past the pan in the bottom 2 corners and it extends a little past on the bottom aswell

d35

8.25
