D30 LP switch to D30 HP ???

D30 LP switch to D30 HP ???

I have a 2001 XJ with the Front D30 LP that the pinion gear is destroyed in it. Just wondering if I can get a D30HP from a pre 2000 XJ and install it on the 2001 ? If it is able to be done how much of a problem is it to do ? Thanks.

It's a direct swap. It bolts in. Just gotta switch axle around

Your year came a HPD30 (Desirable) not the LP (Undesirable) that everyone wants to get rid of because of clearance problems.

100% direct swap, is your XJ lifted? If not you may have issues with the driveshaft & your exhaust. Besides that it's a direct swap.

I I just did this swap. Great upgrade.
