Default D30 HP question
my buddy is parting his 89' wrangler and he has a HP30 and its has 4.10's in it and i am planning on swapping gears out soon, my question is will this be a direct bolt in for a 98' jeep cherokee?

short answer...no



the YJ is leafsprung
it will need the old mounts cut off and new control arm mounts, coil mounts and shock mounts welded on

HP is reverse cut
LP is standard cut.

the internal parts can be swapped from on housing to the other as long as the carrier is the same part number using all the shims supplied from the donor front axle

The carrier would not be the same PN, since he is talking about going from 3.07 to 4.10.
IIRC, the carrier break for these is 3.73

ok ill fill in the blanks both carrier with the 410s must have the same part number for the two different rear which if you check they do
