Default D30 to 8.25

I have done some research on swapping my turdy5 to a chrysler 8.25 but I want to make sure I got it right,So I found a 8.25 out of a 97 xj same gearing as mine 3.55,I know I need new u bolts and maybe some brake stuff(just keeping the drums on it for now)gonna change the diff fluid of course.Do I need the rear shaft out of the donor also?, or will mine work?I hear conflicting stuff about this part...Is there anything else I need to know do this?Seems kinda straight forward, nothing fancy just unbolting one and shoving another under there, reinstalling the drive shaft and bleeding the brakes?(the 8.25 axle is complete hub to hub)Thanks in advance

i think it should be a straight swap, i would check the spline count on the yoke just to be sure first, dont forget the u-bolt plate as well.
