d**n dim dash lites
gotta 90 xj, cream puff (garaged for the last 19yrs. and only on pavement) but can't see the instrument panel at night. I turn up the dimmer switch on the light switch and it's still like a dungeon. I can tell there are lights on and all seem to be working but it goes from black to very low. Could it be the light switch? Thanks

BEFORE you go and start throwing money at the problem:
Take the time and pull the cluster.
Inspect the bulbs.
The mini bulbs in the cluster can tend to "grey-out" over time
The ones on my 99 WJ were almost completely "silver" inside.
Trust me, replacement bulbs are a lot cheaper than a new switch and a lot easier to replace.
I've done a headlight switch replacement...not easy if you have big hands.
