cv or u joints
got a 97 manual trans, 140 thousand miles. front end u joints are making a poping sound again when wheel is cut hard when starting to go in reverse. few years ago i put tranny fluid to them and it stopped. now it is starting up again. since they are original was thinking of replacing them. friend told me napa has a kit to change them over to cv joints. which will last longer? it is in decent shape. though im not in love with it, been a good vehicle and would like to get another 5 years out of it. i do do a bit of off road travel to get to fishing spots but, nothing serious. thanks

thanks. i will have him put the the u joints in then. actually it was four years ago when i just doused them with tranny fluid to see if it would quiet them down. front brakes are squealing so may as well do the u joint replacement while that is being done.
