Default Cup holder opinion

Not a true "tech" question, but makes it into this category via gray area.....lol

Someone broke my OE side mount cup holder this past week. Think it was my buddy who was a little drunk one night......

Anyhow, should I get the same clip-in side mount one which is prone to damage, or this one that mounts over the e-brake?

How badly does this one constrict full e-brake use? Is it tolerable?

Thanks.

i just bought one of those. i like it. it does block the e-brake. your brake cable would have to be adjusted really tight. i have an automatic transmission so it is not a big issue for me. the cup holder prevents the brake lever from raising over 5.75 inches. i pulled the lever up until it hit the cup holder and measured from the end of the lever straight down. if you have a manual tranny i would set the brake lever at this height and see if it is enough to hold on a hill in either direction. if it will, this cup holder will work for you. if it won't, you will have to adjust the brake till it will work or go with the other style holder.
