I replaced my oem radiator 4yrs 40000 miles ago with a Csf 2 or 3 core. As of this week it's got a leak on the top drivers side. Being that my stock radiator ran until 143000 how long should a good replacement last, I thought I should have been set for another 100000?

With that said can a radiator be repaired, or what do you recommend as a replacement?

 

That seems to be pretty typical for those. They're not of the highest quality. Is it all aluminum or the copper/brass style?

Get the OEM style plastic one from Advance auto for like $80 with forever warranty.

 

copper/brass type. i thought it would be decent being it was 200+ wasnt trying to cheap it, but also didnt want stealership 360$. The CSF looked very well made when i got it and it fit great. I hear all this talk on plastic rad/ aluminum rads crack like they are junk when the stock one went 140,000. just a bummer to replace again.

Copper and brass isnt too difficult IF the crack is easily accessible. You can fix it yourself with JB Weld, or solder it using a mini torch and wire brush. Just keep the heat away from nearby joints or you risk desoldering them. JB Weld is easier im sure, but i have never tried it myself.


The issue with plastic tanked radiators are the seals. The only time ive seen a tank split was because the engine overheated.
