Has anybody else crushed their exhaust on the front drive shaft? How did you fix it?

Just to make sure. Are you guaranteed its crushed? On my 98 at least (maybe older too), there is a dent in the pipe from the factory to make more clearance for the driveshaft. Could you post pics?

Sorry no pics but will have to replace it regardless due to the 2 inch split. Was looking in getting this http://rustysoffroad.com/mm5/merchan...y_Code=PER_EXH but is it a complete exhaust?

Glad I came in this thread, that pipe is all beat up and leaking on my XJ and I was wondering where to get a hold of a replacement. That Walker one looks like it would fit the bill. I was thinking someone might make a mandrel bent one but I assume that probably isn't necessary for a stock 4.0L?
If I get the Walker replacement what are the chances of the driveshaft hitting it? Would you guys recommend denting it in a bit before installing it or should I just wait and see what happens?

Though there is a factory "dent" in the exhaust to help clear the driveshaft, I have actually hit this portion with the yoke on my front axle. Easy enough to tell, if it's shiny theres been contact. Only real fix is to re-route the whole front exhaust or extend your bumpstops so the axle can't move that far

No the dent is to clear the front yoke. If you dont believe me, install the walker pipe on a stock height jeep and go wheel it. You will need a new manifold before long and maybe ruin your pinion bearing
