Default Cruise control wiring

So I might be having an issue reading the wiring diagram but I need just a black and white answer on which wires go to which for the cruise control. From the lever to the box At the connector on a 1988 jeep Cherokee. I've tried like 10 different ways so far and none of them have worked.

If you have the FSM, you already have it.

Bear in mind that the CC is vacuum operated as well. If the wiring checks out (including the brake switch), you need to look at the vacuum system, including the gizmo on the brake pedal that releases the vacuum once you apply the brake.

If you don't have the FSM, checkout Cruiser54.com.

Well, the best answer on the wiring is in the service manual. He also pointed you to one of the major problem areas being the electrical/vacuum switch at the brake pedal.

What are you trying to accomplish? Retrofitting cruise control, replacing a broken lever, or troubleshooting it not working?

the connector that goes from the lever to the wires under the steering wheel were cut by the previous owner I just want to know which colors go to which because I have followed two different diagrams and they both seem to be wrong. there is nothing wrong with the vacuum AT ALL. So please stop mentioning it I just want the wires nothing else.

The FSM is at http://malcolm.iri5.net/FSM/1988_XJ_FSM.zip. Do not mess with the setting screws on the cruise module, especially if it was working before.

That's a link on the tech manuals page on https://cruiser54.com/?page_id=365. Download and unzip it, and there is a pdf called "cruise control system.pdf" with troubleshooting info. The wiring diagram above is a screenshot from "wiring diagrams.pdf"

Sigh... Click on the link that says 1988 FSM, or maybe click on the direct link I posted.

If you really want help on this forum, you're going to have to act like an adult instead of a belligerent toddler. I'm done trying to help you.

Yeah I found it and I connected the wires and nothing is happening. It's a brand new unit. Everything is corrected properly, vacuum lines are working .must be the box then.

Is it possible that the PO cut these due to the cruise not working?

please bear in mind that people will be more willing to help you if you are polite in your responses.
