Hi I bought a 1996 jeep Cherokee classic and it has flush mount roof rails. Bought a universal set of crossbars to carry kayaks but they would not work. Wasted many hours of research only to find that the product is incompatible or you cannot really tell if the crossbars will work. I figure there has to be something out there or do I have to get new top rails or add something to them. Thanks to any one who can help

 

You can either get an OEM rack out of the JY and mount it to yours or you can get an aftermarket roof rack that clamps to the drip channels around the perimeter of the roof.

 

Thanks Jim, I messaged about a pair on eBay waiting to hear back, the after market ones are great but a little too much money right now. The junk yards prob the best bet, thanks bud!
