crazy brakes
So... my antilock brakes seem to be randomly kicking in and not stopping me when I need to stop.
It did it a few times a month or so when I was going very slow and for a short duration, and I couldn't replicate it. It was short enough that I wasn't sure what just happened.
Last night it did it several times a row for longer duration in traffic it was a bit nerve racking.
Its on a 92 4.0 with dana 35. It'll be braking like normal then the pedal will go stiff and stutter just like when anti-locks kick on on ice. but actual braking effectiveness goes way down. What is going on? It's way not safe. Any Ideas?

Thanks for the reply. The abs light is intermittent. Not necessarily relating to times they act up. How do I delete abs? anything more than the fuse and relay? Was going to need to do that anyway as I picked up a 8.25 axle to put under it. How do I test the master cylinder?

usually theres a speed sensor ring with abs systems and a little sensor. Check the sensor and clean it up along with checking the ring it should have teeth in it.
Sorry for taking so long to reply. What I ended up doing was just unplugging the abs pump and relays. As well as the controller under the back seat. This has solved my problem. I appreciate you responses. 👍🏼
