Default cranks but no boom

Hey guys got a problem with my cherokee. 95 cherokee sport 4.0L. Was driving down the road the other day and hit a pump and got the death wobble(not suprised) only problem is when it did it, it killed the motor. So far I know i got air, fuel, and spark. the motor cranks over just doesn't start. what i'm afraid of is the shaking(death wobble) either shook something loose or ripped. any ideas. don't have a multi meter.

you can "have fuel" at the fuel rail all day long but, if your fuel pump is shot you won't have enough pressure and you will get crank with no start.

Hey thanks for replying. I know for a fact the fuel pum works just replaced it and fuel filter was replaced just now. its not fuses or relays i've checked those. And good pressure on the fuel line.

suonds like when you hit the bump somthing came loose/unplugged somewhere.only thing i can think of is your cps come loose maybe.if you say all your fuses are ok (interior fuse box/relay box under hood) then that tells me nothing has grounded out from wire touching medal.check your nuetral switch,i did ground mine out one time without blowing any fuses and had a no start situation.get you one of those obd1 scanners for like 40 bucks on ebay,i got one and man they are life savers and worth every penny.hope this helps you out.

NSS... I hit a few bumps on the trails and jogged it loose. Pull it off and scrub it down, then put it back and see.

1. Gotta verify the QUALITY of spark. Is it a strong, blue, snapping spark? If it isn't, the engine may not start. Yellow/white/orange indicates a weak spark, in which case you should test both the primary and secondary resistances of your ignition COIL.

2. If spark is verified good, get a fuel pressure gauge on the schrader valve on the fuel rail. Your engine will not start unless it reaches a certain pressure and the only way you know the pressure is where it should be is with a gauge. Anything else is pure guesswork. For a 95, I believe that number is 31 psi.

So on to business checked the fuel pressure is jumps to the 40's and drops under 25 shortly after. so i'm think fuel pump haven't checked the spark yet but will tomorrow. and let you guys know. als will check cps.

My dad's jeep positive battery cable shook loose from vibration and would not start until we tightened it up. Might be something small like this.

My sons 89XJ required a new CPS.

The XJ cranked just fine, had a strong spark, had proper fuel pressure, but would not fire. Replaced the CPS and it fired right up.

I know the 89 is a Renix Jeep and the 95 is not, but they both have the CPS and they both will crank but not start if the CPS is bad.
