I will do. Needing that bit, it will be tomorrow before i can get it as my dad is gone with the truck. You would think that being a mechanic means no vehicle trouble, but we currently have 1 out of 6 of our own vehicles running. This gives me a chance to work on the car though.

You don't need the bit to check the wiring as Jordan suggested. You can take the plastic trim panel off and probably get a fair enough look at the wiring (certainly if it's melted or charred in a blatant way).

Getting a FSM is important as well.

Perhaps being a mechanic means you have tons of home projects that you never get around to.

Hey y'all. I am still alive, so everything is good there I think. Looking for the ark, a tonsillectomy, and every day life has kept us busy.

We put a new ignition switch in it and thoroughly inspected the wiring. Everything looked good, tried to start it, no change. I just got the FSM today and have spent the afternoon exploring and getting lost in it. :-)
my dad has done a couple things to it this week, but I've been so out of it, I'm not sure what. Something we came up with is, could it possibly be the coolant temp sensor? Our Ford Taurus is doing the same thing as the jeep and yesterday we found that a common problem with them doing that is the coolant temp sensor. I know they are two completely different vehicles, but a possibility maybe? We haven't had chance yet to test it. We will keep on tomorrow and I just wanted to give a quick update.

Well, we finally gave up and took it to the shop. It was the ECM. The reason it wouldn't start with the one that we tried swapping it out with, was because it was off a 01 with coil packs. The shop didn't program the new one right and we are still having issues, but it is running and she can work. Well, at least until today. The fan clutch bearing bracket, exclusive to RHD, went out again. I guess it's time to move on to find and fix the coolant leak on the 01. Thanks guys for your help!
