Unhappy Crank no start on mornings, misfire through the intake.

Hello guys, I am having an annoying issue with my 97 cherokee. In the mornings it cranks but won't catch on. I have to keep cranking it for 5min and even some more from time to time. Between cranks it misfires through the intake and then it starts th of catch on slowly. At times the battery gets completely drained. The weird thing is that once the jeeps turns on the rest of the day will turn on fine. Even right after I get it to turn on in the morning, if I turn it off right away and then turn it on, it won't hesitate to turn on.
Starter was replaced, also the crankshaft position sensor. Mechanic says that fuel pressure is fine and it has spark.
Please any help will be appreciated, this is my only car and I need it to work. Thank you and have a nice day

One thing easy to try. When the ign is turned on the fuel pump only runs a couple of seconds. Try turning it on 5 secs, off for 5, and again a few times few times.....Or more? If that helps you likely have a bad check valve in your fuel pump, or an injector or more leaking.

Another easy test. If you hold the petal solid on the floor the Puter will cut off fuel completely and it will get max air. If it were flooded this will help it start.

Yep. I think DF has nailed it.

By the way, if you've been doing those long cranks for a bit now, you'll probably be needed a new starter pretty soon.

Hello guys, well I wanted to give you guys an update. Suddenly the main pulley went bad, the mechanic put in a new one, then 3 days later the compressor went to ****... I fixed 3 days ago and the jeep is running like new. I'm still waiting to fix the pump issue but so far it has been turning on right away with no issues.
