Default Cracked Head Help

I have a 2001 Cherokee and I'm pretty certain I have a cracked head. It leaks coolant and I have low oil pressure. It has been driven for some time on this cracked head and drives perfectly. Is it worth it to replace the head this late? Will it restore the oil presure?

Hello Ladies!

(sorry, couldn't resist)

Have you done any other checks? How low is the oil pressure? Is this from the in-dash gauge or verified with a mechanical gauge? Is coolant mixing with oil? This shows up as muddiness in your cooland reservoir and crank case.

What happens when the 0331 head cracks is that coolant and oil mix. The coolant displaces oil and corrodes bearings on the crank and cam assemblies, which result in a low pressure reading. Replacing a head will have not effect on those parts.

If your Jeep is actually leaking coolant there's a hood chance they're unrelated. Leaking radiator and broken oil pressure sender are not uncommon.
